The 2008 recession was a hard time for the U.S., but American citizens were not the only ones who faced obstacles. Like many Americans, immigrants with working visas also faced the challenges of maintaining their lifestyle in America.

FOR HERE OR TO GO?  features a screenplay by Rishi Bhilawadikar (who is also among the producers), and tells the story about Vivek, a young software professional who no longer wishes to work at his current job, he sees the potential of startups, and what it will do to his future. After being able to land a position at a promising healthcare startup, he faces his first obstacle: his work visa expiring within the year. Not willing to sponsor him, the startup pulls back their offer, leaving Vivek without much choice but to continue his current job and convince them to extend his visa or find another company that  would be willing to sponsor him. After being directed to department after department in his current job, any hope for his existing job to extend his visa was lost. To make matters worse,  the struggle did not end there. Employers ceased to consider him due to the remaining time he had left to work in America.

Due to a sequence of events the idea of returning to India started to look promising. Without much choice left, Vivek started to prepare himself for what would be one of the biggest changes in his life after moving and settling in Silicon Valley. When he meets a girl, an Americanized young Indian woman, she forces him to continue fighting for the life he has built in America thus far.

FOR HERE OR TO GO? shows the struggles that were born out of the tech community by Indian immigrants that currently live in San Francisco Bay Area, showcasing the many different circumstances and lifestyles. Whether it be from older generations who have already settled in America and have fully adapted the American lifestyle or newer generations who have come to America and struggle to retain their identity, their cultural beliefs are still integrated into a new society while still facing the uncertainty of immigration status.
